Chef Gene Gerrard began training as a chef when he was 15 by watching The French Chef every
Sunday night on PBS in Boston.  Julia Child served as his muse -- as she has for countless chefs --
encouraging him to dabble in classic French cuisine.  Years later, Mrs. Child dubbed Chef Gene as
"a fearless chef...just how a chef should be!"

An excursion to Moscow inspired him to recreate the lost French-infused dishes of the Tzars.
Further down the culinary road, while traveling throughout Italy, and under the guidance of Roman
chef Massimo Natale, Chef Gene first began his education in authentic Italian cuisine (and how to
mix up a batch of home-made limoncello!).  Later, he was apprenticed to
a renown Mexican chef
and was trained in the artful balancing of the complex heat of chiles.  A recent muse is premier
Toronto chef, Didier Leroy, who elevates private dining to the celestial.

Chef Gene melds all of these varied influences into his cooking and combines the flavors,
ingredients and presentation of the most desired world cuisines.  Formally, he received his culinary
education in New York, Toronto and Los Angeles, where he has created private dining experiences
for numerous clients.  He is a certified Personal Chef with the United States Personal Chef
Association and a graduate of the Culinary Business Academy.
